Kim's Farewell Tea
Topic: MHS

Sunday July 29 was a busy day! After the 10k, Larry and I picked up Ryan, then I got cleaned up and ready for a farewell tea for the colonel's wife, Kim. (Kim went to see Equus with me the first time.) Sarah very kindly took lots of photos, and posted them here: http://share.shutterfly.com/action/slideshow?a=67b0de21b35655cd2510&auto=0&idx=18&m=1&d=1187367061620
(Kim is first on photo #17, her mom is in the picture on the left. I am in photo #31, #86, and in the group photos at the end of the album, #103-112. Why oh why didn't anyone remind me to take my sunglasses off???)

The tea was very nice, at the Palm Court Cafe over Farrah's Food Hall. We were supposed to wear hats if we had them. I didn't have the right kind of hat, but I wore one anyway! Smile

It's always hard to say goodbye to friends, and Kim will be dearly missed.

Bouncy Castle
Topic: MHS
Today Ryan and I went to a first birthday party for Winston, my friend Sarah's son. They had a bouncy castle. It was Ryan's first time on one, and he LOVED it! The party was fun and nice, with good munchies and a great group of people.

Spouse Coffee
Topic: MHS
I mentioned going to a spouse coffee last night. Basically, every other month, someone hosts a spouse coffee, which is basically an excuse for MHS spouses to socialize. It's enjoyable and there's free food involved! Last night I took Ryan with me. The hostess, Michelle, had said I could bring him. It turned out Ryan was the only kiddo there (Michelle's son came home later, but he's a bit older). Ryan was well behaved but busy as usual. I spent most of my time and energy trying to watch him and keep him out of trouble, so I didn't really get to relax or socialize as much as I would have liked. It was still nice to get out and socialize though. We've got a nice group of people here. What's kind of neat is that everyone's been somewhere, like Belgium, Japan, Germany, Korea. It's fun to chat and compare notes with fellow spouses who have lived literally all over the world, and have traveled around a bit as well.
